Bandcamp Daily Best New Ambient Music:
"ACR is a new cassette and digital label from London which is dedicated to releasing experimental music from different corners of the globe. Each release comes with a short poem, received digitally as part of each album. Their latest release is by Joshua Stefane, aka Endurance, from Nara, Japan. Molecular Shrine was created with an array of tape equipment and pedals, along with “bewilderment at how much I have to learn about this universe.” The record moves seamlessly between airy, light compositions and more dense, vibrational atmospheres to drift away to."

Badd Press:
"...Molecular Shrine, a new work from Stefane that dropped on Friday, is a terrific example of how compelling minimalist ambient music can be. Sometimes the best chord an artist can strike is a sustained one.
...
“Air-Filled Structures” is the album’s longest piece, at 13 minutes and change. Airy and spacious, it’s a layered work that will hit you like a cool breeze.
“Measurements of Light” is more solid; dense even. But like the rest of the album, it is deeply calming.
“New Era” is a different kind of highlight. It begins with waves lapping up against the shore (perhaps near Stefane’s home in Nara, Japan). From there, he demonstrates a compositional style too seldom identified with the ambient genre. It’s an extraordinary piece on a truly beautiful album."

Beach Sloth:
"Endurance’s “Molecular Shrine” offers a shimmering universe of color. Throughout the album, Endurance’s fondness for a warm minimalism akin to Steve Roden’s work lends it an airy dreamy vibrancy. Stylistically Endurance incorporates a plethora of approaches within the work from electro-acoustic to drone to elements of classical giving it structure. With an emotional core the songs possess a tragic beauty to them, offering little moments of true tenderness. By layering so many rich textures one on top of the other the pieces are easy to get lost in, letting the entirety of the album simply crest like waves.
A hushed silence opens the album with the thoughtful opener of “Serve Science”. Within this deceptively simple work a number of various elements come together with such grace. Easily the highlight of the album rests with the powerful “Air-Filled Structures”. Starting off with such angelic hues, the melodies glisten. Moments within it reference a greater world, as field recording drift into perception. Building up with great care the song rises up with incredible speed until it becomes a literal stream of consciousness filtered through so many playful nuances. Rather serene in scope “Measurements of Light” has a quality akin to letting dust float in a room in the midafternoon sunlight. Nearly ceremonial the title track “Molecular Shrine” hums by with a feeling of reverence. Ending the album on a lovely note “New Era” possesses great warmth."

Igloo Mag:
"...Molecular Shrine is a warm vibrant set of minimal flutings and flutterings, subtle melodics and field recordings blended into rich particulate textures layered into shimmering colorfields. A musing on ‘the bridging of the micro and macro, from the fine details to the whole, from the pin drop to the colossus roar,’ incorporating stylistic strands from electroacoustic to drone to post-classical, buried melodies emerging, imbued with affect."
